I am not talking about someone pregnant for three months but about a college who has got a big connection to three months.
He works in the same company as I am and one day when I was talking to him about his life he had a great story behind to tell me.
He joined the company within in three months of his completion of bachelor’s course.
He tried for his higher studies for three months from the time he joined the company and lost it. He had to accept the hard truth and it took almost three months for his to convince himself.
Within three months from then he got an opportunity fly across the continent; stayed in US for three months on his first trip.
He was a technical consultant and due to his nature of job he had to visit different countries and never he has stayed in any country for more than three months.
He got married and it was three months for his marriage from the time he met his life partner.
Finally he decided to quit the organization and worked in some other company but could not continue for more than three months and returned back to his previous employer.
Got married in three months from the time he first met his life partner.
Within three months of his marriage he had to travel again :-(
Due to family constrains he decided to take his family for a for a long term opportunity and stay for a while in US.
But seems the three month spell casted on him still has an effect.
He had to frequently change his stint in different places in US.
Finally landed up in Chicago and took three months to get him settled.
He is now in UK for the last three months. Hope his three month spell casted is broken at least here and he continues to live in peace for more than three months at one place.

Leela - 2: Master under Meditation
This incident was during the days when as a company we were aiming towards CMM certification and the Master was moved from Project Manger role to Quality Manager role by this time. Unfortunately, he owned to get CMM certification for our company.
So, we had some CMM consultants flying to our place to provide us 'Gyan' on what this is all about. The world of Quality manager till such time was limited to only bugs and it took a lead assessor to fly to our place at the company's cost to make him understand Quality processes are just not limited to bugs but it is far beyond that.
Target dates were aligned from the CEO, the project got kickedoff and our clock started ticking towards achieving our goal.
To ensure every one is aware and contributes to this noble initiative, we had regular team meetings in our office pantry area where there was enough room for all of us to sit. The documents were projected on a big white wall near the pantry area and all of us had to listen what the SEPG (Software Engineering Process Group) member had to say. People who had gone through the process of acquiring training on quality process would definitely understand how boring the sessions would be unless the presenter is humorous to crack jokes during his presentation. I mean for one who is generally with a coding / design mind set.
During couple of such presentations Master use to close his eyes and sit quietly with out much movements. Well, we all knew that he was sleeping as we heard a mild snore but we only whispered among ourselves to show others watch Master sleeping.
It so happened Master suddenly woke up with the sound of our giggle. Immediately without any hesitation he simply said that he was just closing his eyes and was in a Transcendental Meditation.
I really appreciated his presence of Mind thought no body believed him :-). From then on, he use to sleep without any worries as all of us knew he is in Transcendental Meditation (Deep Sleep) :-)

Master's Leelas -1
I am back to my master's leela's during my early days in the career. You can ready my post Master if you are keen to learn more about him.
Being a project manager and not knowing anything about the application that is being built inspire of multiple knowledge training sessions, one has to spend lots of time to make him understand what we are trying to explain.
As a software engineer we always have problems with the application. The application (web application) is suppose to schedule a resource and the bug reported was that there is some time zone problem.
So to understand and find a fix for the issue a brainstorming session was called and for obvious reasons master was also called.
He was in his own world thinking for a scenario that he can talk at the same time trying to pick up the discussion from what is going on..
The discussion went on with multiple scenarios and Master suddenly raised his voice to explain a scenario that stuck his mind.
Makalae! (children) being a web application, what happens if some one is travelling in a flight from India to US and in the mid way he is trying to schedule a resource?
Though we tried explaining him that the application is not intended to be used by a person who is travelling but he never accepted it. He in fact came up with the test case but we put him down that we cannot travel just for this.. Perhaps we can change the time zones in the computer to simulate a similar situation.

The Master
My second boss was from some military background. His last designation was a lieutenant. Not sure why he ventured into software industry but it happened. He was deemed the project manager for the 10 of us.
He was supposed to be good but unfortunately he does not know where 'any key' is in the computer. That's the level of his literacy. Since, he is from an army background his leadership skills were as that of a lieutenant and not of a software project manager.
There are some peculiar characteristics of this boss:He never likes people arguing. If you end up arguing he will make sure there is a problem and you are into it. He even goes to the level of calling the COE of the organization and give you the phone without any warning in your hand. You might also end start talking without knowing who is on the other side of the wire.
He never likes going home early:
He will come to work at 8am in the morning and never leaves before 11pm. He had a schedule of what he should do on a daily basis. He will start the day with holy bookThen a walk round the tables just to make sure every body is in office and are only at their seatsIf he finds you sitting with someone else, or having a giggle during a casual chat, that's it, you will end up in his room with a lecture where you will always be proved wrong.
You cannot leave the office before 10pm:
There was an instance when one of my colleague was waiting because we had an implementation but this poor guy was no where related to that work but still he was asked to stay back. The clocked ticked from 10pm to 12pm and my friend out of desperation steeled into the dark and went out of the office. Out came the master at 3am and did a routine check and found this guy missing. That's it. Next day he was summoned and was put into a miserable state.
Ofcouse some good things from him:
You can order anything at the company cost to eat when you stay late so it was a boon for the bachelors staying away from home to eat good food free of cost.
If required he will prepare tea and coffee and if is busy he will ensure one of us with less work load make tea / coffee for others.
Because he had all these qualities and only likes to order and not ready to work, we named him as Master !

My First Boss
My very first company is a very small one just with 10 resources. It was a product based company at the beginning and we were working hard, I mean really hard.... as the company is new and resources are also new. There was no experienced person except my first technical manager. He looked more like a senior but he is from US and so he works in the night with his laptop in our office and sleeps in the day (reception sofa!)
This guys is too technical you don’t know when he will make you work, We generally leave the office by 7:30pm but just then he will pop in and say guys lets go to dinner - you know we were all young bachelors and anyway most of us were from out side the state and if somebody is ready to feed you free of cost just stick to him. So, we said O that's a good idea. He would then take us to any hotel that was not less than a *** and feed us with what ever we want.
Since we had a good dinner, he will say come lets work for some time, we have already lost 3hrs in this hotel ordering, waiting and eating the food. Since we ate free of cost, we accepted to work long hours... That started a trend in the company where by default it was expected that we should not leave anywhere before 12pm but you should be in office by 8:00 AM.
The time passed and the hotel range came down from anything not less than 3 stars to anything that is on the road side. In the local language its called 'tattu kada' in my place we use to call them as 'kai yenthi bhavan.
It so happened we grew better to reject his invitation but he never accepted as it was too late for us to change the behaviour. And when ever he invited us we had to work whole of the night!
Lesson: Accept invitations but not repeated invitations that too from your boss!
